Arrangements are under the direction of Baumgardner Funeral Home. Mike McCorkle will officiate the Funeral services on April 19, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at the Burleson Commons Church of Christ. Graveside services immediately following at the Crowley Cemetery.
B.F. was born on September 24, 1932, in Terral, Oklahoma, to Hosea L. Brookins and Lillian Williams Brookins. He graduated from Norman High School in 1950. After completing two years at Oklahoma University, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served four years.
He married Lois Elizabeth Stapp on June 12, 1953. They settled in Crowley, Texas, where they raised three children; 2 sons and a daughter.
After retiring from the United States Postal Service and losing his first love, Lois, he moved to Oklahoma.
Several years later, he met and married Gwen Stewart Fry on July 8, 2006.
B.F. had a special gift; caring for others. He was a thoughtful caregiver through all circumstances. He was very attentive to the needs of his family. He was an exceptionally strong yet nurturing man, an excellent caregiver to all of his family.
B.F. loved to play croquet, boating, skiing, fishing, traveling, surfing the internet, and spending time with his family.
B.F. was a long-time member of the Burleson Commons Church of Christ, in Burleson, Tx., and the Penn Street Church of Christ in Oklahoma City, Ok.

Survived by: Son, Stanley Chris Brookins of Crowley; Son & Daughter-in-law, Kerri and Greg Brookins of Burleson; Daughter & Son-in-law, Catherine and Rick Valentino of Joshua; One Brother, Don Brookins of Norman, Oklahoma ; Two Granddaughters, Lacy Brookins Bailey of Aledo, Angela Valentino Elmore of Burleson; Four Grandsons, Ricky Valentino of Burleson, Shawn Valentino of Keene, Matthew Valentino of Bloomingdale, Georgia , Danny Valentino of Kennedale; 18 Great Grandchildren ; 4 Great-Great Grandchildren.
