Fort Worth-Kitty Evelyn (Bowles) Pipes went home to be with her Lord and Savior Sept. 14, 2021. She was surrounded by loved ones. Evelyn was born on April 14, 1942 to Augustus and Rebecca (née Cummings) Bowles in Grandview, TX. A 1960 graduate of Cleburne High School and 1964 graduate of University of Mary-Hardin Baylor, she began teaching at West Creek Elementary in Fort Worth ISD in 1964. She fell in love and married her sweetheart, Rex Pipes, in 1965. Evelyn went on to teach 14 years at Bess Race Elementary in Crowley ISD. She also impacted many in her community through her dedicated work with First Baptist Church of Crowley, Crowley House of Hope, the Tarrant Baptist Association, and Kids Hope USA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Marie Pipes and LaVeda Hickman, and her granddaughter Amanda Tack. She has left a legacy of faithfulness to her husband Rex; daughter Shelley Davidson and husband Brian, daughter Dixie Tack and husband Jeremy, son Sam and wife GaLynn; grandchildren Jonathan Davidson and wife Chesley, Rebecca Davidson, Cage Pipes, Shelby Davidson, Sgt. Colton Pipes (USMC) and wife Cheyenne, Gracie Pipes, RyLeigh Pipes, Madeline Tack, Clara Tack, Isaac Tack, and Lydia Tack; great granddaughters Elliot Pipes, Finley Pipes, and Olivia Davidson; and brother Leroy Bowles.
